Hungarian telco Magyar Telekom has deployed an Ethernet-over-Coax solution from local firm  

BroadBit for the delivery of its IPTV service 'T-Home TV' within subscribers' homes.


The rollout started last March, following three months of lab testing that started in January,

according to BroadBit.  The company's Ethernet-over-Coax adaptors are fully passive (no power

supply is needed), and their initial deployment is described as being "very popular" with customers.


Magyar Telekom had reached 67,430 customers for its IPTV service by the end of 2009, up 136.6% from the 28,496 customers reported at the end of 2008.
